Dress Code
As we are getting closer to the start of the dance season, you may be wondering what your child will need for dance class. You can find our dress code on our website at https://www.inspiredcreationsdance.com/dress-code.html. To make it easier to find what you need, you can shop our studio's Online Dance Boutique, find your child's class, and see the required shoes and suggested dancewear. You can purchase those items directly from the website. If you can't find what you need on our Online Dance Boutique, you can visit our studio's Discount Dance page and find additional suggestions for your class.
Not sure of the size? Come to one of our Open House days, and there will be samples of shoes for your child to try on to help you with sizing decisions. If you do not have the proper shoes for the first week of class, that is completely fine!
If you place an order through our Online Dance Boutique, your order will be sent to the studio, and you will be able to pick up your order at one of our Open House days. If you wait until after our Open House dates to order, your order will be given to you as soon as it comes in.
September 18th is National Dance Day!
Learn the Official 2021 National Dance Day Routine:
Established in 2010 by American Dance Movement co-founder, Nigel Lythgoe, and Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton, National Dance Day is an annual celebration dedicated to dance, that encourages Americans of all ages to incorporate dance into their lives. By creating a focused day of celebration to show support for dance as a valuable form of exercise and of artistic expression, American Dance Movement aims to educate the public about dance and its many benefits, as well as make dance accessible and inclusive to everyone.
American Dance Movement (ADM) believes that participation in dance connects the mind and body, promotes health and wellbeing, connects us with others and enables us to find joy through dance and movement. National Dance Day (NDD) is a day of celebrating dance, in all its forms, and takes place annually on the third Saturday in September.
"Dancing to bring joy and hope to the darkest places"
Our dance studio will be participating in this wonderful event, alongside Fenton Ballet Theatre, Modern Messages Dance Company, and other local dancers, to help two local families fighting childhood cancer. All ticket sales will be donated to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Camp Quality. Tickets are $30 and are general seating.
The performance will be on Sunday, October 24th at 2:00pm at the Hartland Performing Arts Center. Doors open at 1:30pm. To purchase your tickets, click here.
If you are unable to attend the event but would still like to support this wonderful cause, you will be able to leave a donation at the front desk at the studio once we are open.
Established in 2019, Dancing For A Cure is committed to supporting families faced with childhood cancer -along with other terminal diseases- through dance performance based fundraising.
Pace Yourself: How to Transition Back to a Full Dance Schedule
"If you can, begin preparing your body for the challenges of dancing all day at least one month to two weeks before you're back in the studio on a more regular basis."
"Dancers returning to full-time schedules can expect to face a frustrating gap between what they feel they should be able to do and what's physically available to them at this moment."
I wanted to send you an update regarding COVID-19 and our plans for the fall.
At this point, nothing is set in stone regarding mask requirements for the upcoming dance season. We will be monitoring the situation and following the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) and the Livingston County Health Department (LCHD).
The current level of community transmission in Livingston County is high, and the current recommendation for students is the use of masks indoors by all individuals regardless of vaccination status to reduce transmission risk, especially due to the circulating and highly contagious Delta variant. Since a majority of our dance students are young and are not eligible for a vaccine, our number one priority is to keep them, as well as all of our dance families, safe. I realize that every dance studio and school district will approach this issue differently, and there are many varying opinions about this issue. My hope for this dance season was that we would not have to wear masks. However, no matter how I personally feel about masks, we will be following the recommendations of the CDC, MDHHS, and LCHD, and this will not be up for debate at our studio, nor will we make our decision based on what others are choosing to do. Based on current recommendations, we will be erring on the side of caution at Inspired Creations Dance Studio to protect those who are more vulnerable to the virus, myself included.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with my story, I am a fairly recent cancer survivor. I have an unvaccinated 3 year old (who I was pregnant with when I received my cancer diagnosis), and I will have a newborn baby this fall. I will also have to go back on my post-cancer treatment which will affect how my immune system functions, despite my vaccination status. I truly appreciate your cooperation with our COVID-19 policies to keep me and my family safe during these unprecedented times.
I am so excited to get back to dance this fall and am looking forward to sharing the joy that dance brings with all of you. I completely understand if you choose not to join us this year due to the mask requirement at our studio. I wish that we did not need to wear them, but again, safety of all of our students and families is my number one priority. We are going to do everything we can to reduce the risk of transmission at our studio. More detailed information about our mask requirements and COVID-19 policies and procedures will be sent out closer to the start of our season, and we will continue to update our policies and mask requirements throughout the year based on the recommendations of the CDC, MDHHS, and LCHD.
Keep in mind that these decisions regarding COVID-19 are not easy decisions to make, and a lot of thought has gone into our decisions regarding our COVID-19 policies. The decisions we make regarding COVID-19 are not up for debate and are solely based on the recommendations of the CDC, MDHHS, and LCHD, not personal feelings. If you choose not to dance with us this year due to our COVID-19 policies, we completely understand and respect your decision, and we hope that we can share our love for dance with you in the future.
Thank you for understanding,

I’m so excited to announce that we’re incorporating a brand new program into our PreDance and 5-6 year old dance classes here at Inspired Creations Dance Studio!!
It’s called Dancely □
Dancely is dedicated to our favorite little ones, aged 3-6 years old, to get them moving, shaking, and most importantly, having fun!
But Dancely is not just any old preschool program.
Dancely features original music that little ones love from the award winning songwriters at Disney, Netflix and Marvel -- Powerhouses among preschoolers in their own right! □
We've included songs for all styles that kids love dancing to and parents love listening to. And every few months, we’ll introduce even MORE new original music.
Dancely features original choreography from expert preschool dance teachers, who know exactly the moves that make kids jump for joy with delight and excitement. Your little ones are going to have so much fun moving, bouncing, and shaking with us!
We’re so excited to see your little ones experience the magic of dance!
P.S. The Dancely program, music, and choreography was created explicitly for kids aged 3-6 years old and features completely original music and choreography. In other words, your kids will have a blast!
