Dancers need to arrive 45 minutes before showtime with hair and makeup done and ready to get dressed in costume. Please bring make-up and hair supplies for touch-ups! See drop-off and pick-up procedures below.
Make sure your dancer eats before they come, especially because they will not be permitted to eat in the dressing rooms.
Don’t forget to have your dancer use the bathroom before the start of the show!
DRESSING ROOM
Dancers will have to stay in the dressing room the entire show (with the exception of our Preschool dancers). This is to avoid chaos during the show as our staff members are getting dancers lined up ready to take the stage, and to also avoid interruptions to audience members. Thank you for understanding! We have lots of helpers and activities to keep dancers busy in the dressing room during the show, and to help them get ready for each of their dances, so you can truly relax and enjoy the show!
Dressing Room Rules:
No dads are allowed in the dressing rooms. If a dad is dropping off their dancer, they can walk their dancer to the dressing room door but must stay outside.
No food is allowed in the dressing rooms.

If there are any dancers watching in the audience, they need to come backstage when we make the announcement (about 3 dances before the end of the show) so we can get them lined up backstage.
After the show is over, dancers will exit the stage and head back to the dressing rooms.

Things to Note:
Changing:Our main dressing room is a large open room that dancers will be changing in.If your dancer is uncomfortable changing in an open room, you may want to purchase a nude leotard that they can wear under their costume so that they are still covered when they are changing. You can purchase one online here, and it will be delivered to the studio for you to pick up.
Only Inspired Creations Dance Studio staff and registered parent helpers are permitted backstage.
LABEL EVERYTHING!It is helpful to have a laundry basket labeled with the dancer's name to contain their items to help them from getting lost.
If your dancer must have an electronic device with them (cell phone, ipad, etc.), please make sure those items are labeled with your dancer's name. Please know that there is little to no reception in the dressing room/backstage area. Inspired Creations Dance Studio and the Alverson Center for Performing Arts are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged items.
3-4yr Dancers:
Dancers can sit on a parent's lap for the second half of the show.
We would like them to stay in the dressing room for the entire half of the show that they are in to avoid interruptions to other audience members. However, if they are not going to be okay without you for that long, we will allow you to come and get them after their dance.
Boys:
Boys will have a small dressing room and will only be allowed to be in the dressing room to change and keep their costumes. The rest of the time, boys will be seated in the hallway to be monitored.
For our young boys:if they need help chaning, moms are welcome to take them to the bathroom to change.
13+yr and Adult Dancers:
One hour before show time, Miss Natalie will be leading an optional 30-minute warm-up onstage for all dancers ages 13 & up only.
Dancers who are in a lot of dances during the show are welcome to bring snacks to keep their energy level up, but they are not allowed to eat in the dressing rooms. We will have some chairs available in the hallway for them to sit in to eat their snack. Please make sure the snacks are non-messy, as we don't want to risk getting anything on costumes!
